Still Working....

 Cancer doesn't seem to want to let me go. No matter, I'm not willing to stop fighting!

I've had to change to some stronger meds, and as a consequence, I won't be adding any new authors to my calendar for a while.

I'm so happy I am able to continue with my work, I just don't want to spend quite as much time working!!!😃

I'll update here when I start accepting new authors again. Thanks! 

Time Flies!

I saw the last post date, and had to do some thinking about why I stopped posting. I sure as heck didn't stop editing!

Then I realized:
Between May of 2018 and today, I've moved, had another stent in my heart, an aortic valve replacement and a blood infection. OMG! Going through it seemed to take less time than to write it out!

I'm all good now, just in time for spring!

This is going to be a fabulous series. Can't wait for them all to come out, and for Scarlett to continue with the rest. I recommend this for ages 10 and up!

Busy Busy Busy

I apologize to everyone for the lack of activity recently.

I've continued editing, but life crashed into me so hard that I fell down on the posting and reviewing of the books.

In September of 2017 I had to have 5 more stents placed in my heart. It was shortly after that I was told my breast cancer returned and was now Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Having completed radiation treatment, ongoing injections and chemo pills, and alternative treatments, I'm pleased to say the cancer is gone. We'll deal with anything else that happens, when it happens.

We made the move from Spokane, WA, to Las Vegas, NV, this spring. The warm dry air will help with arthritis, and it will be fun to spend time with the family here. Moving is such a pain, though!

In the meantime, my calendar is full for this year. There will be a rate increase next year, though it's not a huge one. I kind of rebel at charging industry standard. I understand the dynamics of pricing, but I'm a super small business... can't imagine that I would affect the whole in a great way. That being said, my accountant said I need to increase a bit.

The new rates for 2019 will be Proofread $3.50/1000 words, and Copy Edit $5.50/1000. This is a $1.00/1000 word increase.

My intention is to get back into the swing of editing, then posting and reviewing!

Silver and Shadows by Tracy Sharp

I really enjoyed Silver and Shadows. Because the descriptions were great, I was able to get visuals on all of the characters. Murders and demons... what’s not to love? The writing flowed nicely. I felt there could have been a bit more explanation in places, but that could just be me... I always seem to want more information! I totally recommend this book!

It will be on sale late September or early October. I loved it and couldn't wait to let everyone know about it so they can look for it!

Statues Trilogy and Echo Rituals vol. 1 and 2 by Ainsley Shay

I predict the reader will become hooked on the characters and story line with just the beginning book, will need to finish the series all at once. Ainsley Shay is one of those writers who gives the reader tension, suspense, and emotional highs and lows. Great read!

Bayside and East Raven Academies by Scarlett Haven

I enjoy reading Scarlett Haven... Her stories are populated by teens and young adults that are highly relatable. I recommend these books for the Young Adult readers.

All She Ever Wanted and Everything She Needed by Christina Butrum

Ms. Butrum has given a story that is written in such a way as to put the reader smack dab into the story. The characters have depth that allows the reader to experience the story, rather than just read it. Kudos to you, Christina, I enjoy reading your stories, like your friends withing the story, and love your Cedar Valley. Everything She Needed is available now for pre-order... to be published Aug. 16, 2017.

Forgiveness and Hope - two books by Carol Cannon

 Carol Cannon is able to write in such a manner as to evoke memories of the feelings one had at the time of going through their own life’s experiences. Her character development and style of writing gives the reader four new best friends... and makes one want to call Layne, Dixie, Bettie Jo, and Nona to come over and have a glass of wine. this author had me feeling the entire range of emotions. I highly recommend you read Carol Cannon.

Broadway Cinderella by Cate Dean

Not your everyday Cinderella story! I love the books by Cate Dean, anything she writes, and this is no exception. Who doesn't love a Cinderella story? This is one not to miss, I highly recommend it!

Queen Obscene by Nattie Watson

This author, Nattie Watson, writes with such passion and expression that the reader is drawn into an emotional roller coaster of their own. The characters are well-built and the internal dialogues of the main character, Mistry, evoke memories of feelings many of us share.
I’m excited about this new author.

Death Song by Cate Dean

I would highly recommend this book. Besides enjoying every other book that Cate Dean has written, this book appealed to me especially, as it has a paranormal slant to it. Murder meets mystery meets ghosts. The characters are well rounded, the descriptions of everything are enough that you are placed right in the middle of the action. I loved it and wasn’t able to put it down.

The Heir Hunter Series by K.E. O'Connor

Though I didn't edit/proof all of the series, I need to post for all of them. What a fantastic world O'Connor has created. The idea of magic and powers being handed down from one family member to the other was a new idea for me. The characters are believable, the scenes are set so that you can visualize everything. Highly recommend K.E. O'Connor; if you haven't read her yet... do so!

Time to get back to the Blog!!

Apologies to my authors, I thought getting older and being 'semi-retired' would grant me hours and hours of time. I didn't take into consideration the grandma duties, garden stuff, and honey dos that creep in! (and yes, women have honey do lists thrust upon them, also!!)

Finally I will be posting the books I've been negligent in putting up here...

Busy Time of Year for All

It's been a long time since I've been on here! Spring was too crazy for words and now that it's summer... unrelenting busy-ness! I love it, though.

The grandkids have visited a few times, and in July we will camp with 6 of the grandies, and a son and daughter in law. With six I really need reinforcements.

Needless to say, my personal writing has been put on hold for a while. I lost momentum when the external drive containing all my editing work and my own MS fell to the floor and just couldn't get up. 

I'm booked through the year for edits, though I usually am willing to squeeze in when I can... that means no days off for a few weeks, but it also means I don't clean house either... I love a clean house, hate cleaning it!

I apologize to all the authors I've not taken the time to blog about. I will fix that as often as I can!

Also, I'm so excited for Jane Taylor, an author I edited for a few years. I just saw that she had a television interview on Page One with Zita Christian. I love Taylor's books, and am so proud to say I've worked for her. 

For all of you, I hope your summer is busy, fun, and productive. I am grateful to all authors; books will always be my passion.

Letting them live in their home and having food and care paid for by the government was a huge relief. Since no criteria had yet been published concerning the level of care for “human-animal chattel', unsuspecting family members naively believed it would be sufficient and welcomed the strays back into their arms as soon as they were safely on the government dole. Looking back, it would appear that some merit had now been added to the comments made by a well-known intellectual shortly after the 2010 bill passed, “due to a lack of transparency and the stupidity of the American voter."

Meanwhile, happy, busy people quickly forgot all about that awful “label.” They were soon lulled back into the false sense of security that living in a three hundred year old democracy can so comfortably provide.

Advertising the book I co-authored! What an experience this has been. I had no idea what work was involved for the self-published authors. I salute you all!

Work in Progress

It was quite a while ago that I lost all the links to the books I've edited. The page was to highlight what work I've done, but it was also for my personal feeling of accomplishment.

Since then, I've listed the authors with whom I've worked, and am in the process of linking their Amazon pages. I don't think the page looks as cool, but I do think it advertises the authors in a better way.

I'll have to figure out a way to jazz the page so that it's fun. Any ideas are welcome!

OMG I messed up! Big time!

So, somehow, I managed to delete my edited works page, along with the entire list and pictures of the books. The page is gone. I'm so sad... Not sure what to do about this. Any ideas?

Witch Bound: Heir Hunters, book 2

There are enough side plots to keep everyone happy in this, the second of the Heir Hunters Series. Sometimes the second in a series can seem a bit disjointed from the first. Not so, with this book. It is so well written that it appears seamless in the telling. You will not be disappointed when reading Witch Blood... More, please‼

Blood Hunted-Heir Hunters Series by K.E. O’Connor

This is an original story that I found fascinating! I like the style, the descriptions, the action... just everything about it.I’m very happy it’s a series... Highly recommended reading.
